Leap of Kindness Day 2024 Challenge: What Will You Do with an Extra Day?

Hey there, wonderful community of Bastrop! It's Robert Foradory, your local realtor, reaching out with an exciting challenge. On Thursday, February 29, 2024, we're celebrating the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce's first #LeapOfKindnessDay!

Every four years, we get an extra day in a Leap Year, and this time around, I want to encourage each and every one of you to use that day to spread kindness throughout our community. The concept started in 2016 with the Saratoga County Chamber and has since grown into a nationwide celebration of goodwill.

What Can You Do?

As we approach Leap of Kindness Day 2024, I challenge you to think about what you can do with an extra day. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Organize a drive for essential items and deliver them personally to a local charity on February 29.
2. Express gratitude to our amazing first responders by delivering meals or snacks to your local fire, police, or EMS station.
3. Dedicate February 29th to enhancing a public space – clean, beautify, or fix amenities in need in a park, trail, or playground.
4. Encourage your children to write and deliver heartfelt thank you notes to educators, custodians, bus drivers, and others.
5. Reach out to local care facilities, hospitals, senior or youth centers, and agencies assisting those with unique needs. Collect and deliver items tailored to their specific requirements on Leap of Kindness Day.
